If you're experiencing a bug with Skyrim or one of the DLCs, please report the bug to us in as much detail as possible on the USLEEP bugtracker. Please use search to ensure that you aren't submitting something that is already there. Please also confirm that the bug you are reporting happens with no mods other than the unofficial patches installed. A lot of Skyrim bugs are actually the result of other mods doing things they're not supposed to. Thank you and we hope you have a better Skyrim experience!

Bug Fixes Recommended in Addition to the Unofficial Patches

USLEEP Fixes

  • Changes to vampire eye records were never properly reconciled when the USLEEP merge was done back in July of 2015. They were still configured in such a way as to preserve overwrites from the old individual unofficial patches. This may result in some unexpected changes in vampire appearances, but it is now aligned with the changes Dawnguard intends to make to the game.
  • The crafting recipe for Woodcutter's Axe [USKPTemperWeaponAxe01] mistakenly required use of a steel ingot when it should have been an iron ingot. (Bug #21642)
  • The MagicAlchBeneficial keyword has been removed from the USKPGiftOfCharity effect due to it causing unwanted interference with speechcraft potions.


Actor Fixes

  • The bandit [dunRavenscarTrappedBandit] in Ravenscar Hollow didn't have a default outfit set and would appear naked as a result. (Bug #21872)
  • Vald lacked the dead body cleanup script which could result in his corpse lingering for ages in Riften. (Bug #21893)
  • Camilla Valerus can sometimes get stuck in front of the Sleeping Giant, possibly due to the space between her AI markers being too far apart. (Bug #21734)
  • Dorian is incorrectly set up as a static level NPC capping at level 251 due to what appears to be someone typing the proper range into the wrong boxes. He is also marked essential but has no purpose in being so. (Bug #21736)
  • Kvenel the Tongue was not configured with the proper keywords for a ghost NPC. (Bug #21971)
  • Belrand was set to the wrong outfit to match his skills and perks (should be using 4 pieces of hide, not mixed iron and hide) and had no offensive magic spell despite telling the player he does AND being set to use augmented frost. Gave him the Ice Spike spell for that. (Bug #21793)


Audio Fixes

  • DLC2ApocryphaWeather and DLC2ApocryphaWeatherNEW both have an invalid sound type set to a deleted form ID. The bad sound entries have been removed as no correct ones could be located. (Bug #20040)


Item Fixes

  • The Woodsman's Friend [dunPinewoodGroveWoodsmansFriend] had its detection sound set to "normal" when it should be set to "loud" like a regular iron battleaxe. (Bug #21649)
  • Movarth's Boots [dunMovarthsBoots] could not be sold to a vendor since they were missing the VendorItemArmor keyword. (Bug #21826)
  • Stormcloak Helmet [TemperArmorStormcloakHelmetFull] required use of a leather strip to temper rather than an iron ingot. This has been corrected to match the other hold guard helmets in the game. (Bug #21779)
  • “Boar Meat”, “Ash Hopper Meat”, “Ash Hopper Leg”, and “Cooked Boar Meat” all display 0 value due to not having set the no-autocalc flag on the items. (Bug #21579)
  • Flin, Mazte, Shein, Sujamma, Sadri’s Sujamma, and Emberbrand Wine all lack proper pickup and drop sounds. (Bug #21760)
  • DLC2Book2CommonRavenRock01, DLC2Book2CommonRavenRock02, and DLC2POIUshaNote lacked the "VendorItem" keyword and could not be sold to vendors as a result. (Bug #21861)
  • Poison Blooms (DLC01PoisonBloom) lacked the VendorItemIngredient keyword and thus could not be sold to alchemists. (Bug #21983)


Location Fixes

  • The interior of Anga's house in Anga's Mill needed to have the navmesh refinalized. She would sometimes become stuck inside, unable to leave. (Bug #21601)
  • BYOHHouse1Falkreath had its weather region set as "WeatherSnow" when it should have been "WeatherPineForest" like the surrounding area. (Bug #21882)
  • Preferred pathing into Jorrvaskr did not include the front door navmesh triangles so the game would always put quest markers over the back door. (Bug #21813)
  • Windstad Manor had an incorrect weather type set for where the exit connects with the exterior. (Bug #21897)
  • The secret entry/exit from Reachcliff Cave had no proper navmeshing at the exit so NPCs would go around to the main cave entrance instead even after it was made available. (Bug #21767)


Magic, Perk & Skill Fixes

  • Summoning Durnehviir was possible to do in an interior cell. Interior cells do not support proper dragon flight mechanics and it usually ends up with half the room being trashed and possibly causing crashes due to Havok overload from the side effects. Note that this will NOT disable summoning him inside a worldspace built to look like an interior, such as Blackreach. (Bug #17996)
  • The Homecooked Meal bonus was not applied correctly to FoodMarriageMeal. Rather than using a perk that adds a spell that adds an ability that adds the effects, the effects are now added directly by eating the meal itself. (Bug #21208)

  • Bad collision on one of the large mountain slab pieces, blocks progress in some areas. (meshes\landscape\mountains\mountaincliffsm01.nif) (Bug #21603)

  • During Laid to Rest (MS14), Alva will no longer be teleported to Movarth's Lair if she is in the coffin when the player activates the journal. (Bug #21446)

  • Due to a rogue edit by the CK back in October 2013 (UHFP 2.0) it was inadvertently made impossible for wolves to attack a Hearthfire house due to the keyword condition being broken. (Bug #22162)
  • Fixes done for the Totem of Brotherhood back in UDGP 1.3.0 have been reverted after further attempts to fix the proper tiered system revealed why Bethesda didn't implement it correctly to begin with. (Bug #20018)
  • Miraak's cultists have finally been subdued! Their gear will no longer produce leg gaps or have odd overlaps or clipping when worn together. Several meshes ended up needing to be repartitioned again and the esp file adjusted to match. (Bug #22149)


Actor Fixes

  • Wyndelius did not appear at the correct portcullis in Shroud Hearth Barrow because he was missing one of the required linked reference settings. (Bug #22075)
  • Olda is marked as the wife of Lodvar and the sister-in-law of Horgeir, which is incorrect given that she’s actually married to Horgeir. (Bug #22309)


Audio Fixes

  • The male guard voice incorrectly recorded the line about Skyrim needing more healers. It does not match the subtitle or audio from the other entries. (sound\voice\Skyrim.esm\maleguard\dialogueguardsgeneral__000d5eb7_1.fuz) (Bug #21700)
  • Domesticated goats have a bell on their necks that makes no sound. This has been corrected through a workaround in the sound impact data. (Bug #12817)


Item Fixes

  • Bolar's Oathblade did not fully recharge due to the enchantment value not being an evenly divisible number of the enchantment cost. The enchantment value is now 575 so that it will charge fully as a multiple of 115. (Bug #21794)
  • Female Khajiit Dark Brotherhood Shrouded Hand Wraps (DBGlovesKhaAA) were incorrectly pointing to the Argonian models. (Bug #22310)
  • Sunhallowed and Bloodcursed Elven arrows lacked the material keyword designating them as Elven arrows. (Bug #21705)
  • The leveled list [LItemNecromancerRobesRestoration] for the necromancer variety of Robes of Restoration was erroneously set to use the warlock version of the robes. (Bug #22080)


Load Screens

  • The Morthal shield used for TownMorthal02 was not positioned correctly and has been adjusted. (Bug #22185)


Location Fixes

  • Navmeshing in front of Warmaidens in Whiterun was allowing NPCs to try to walk through objects and take awkward pathing. (Bug #22313)
  • White Ridge Barrow should have been assigned the LocTypeDraugrCrypt keyword, but was given the LocTypeAnimalDen keyword instead. This could potentially result in it being chosen as a radiant location for Animal Extermination [CR02]. (Bug #22331)

  • After moving to Riften in With Friends Like These (DB02), Aventus Aretino can sometimes be found stuck trying to navigate his way to the city because Fort Greenwall may not yet be cleared when he leaves Windhelm. He will now be moved to the orphanage via script at the appropriate time. (Bug #22212) [Note to modders: The fixes for Aventus have been moved from the DB01 scripts to the DBEntranceQuest scripts.]
  • Ainethach's dialogue at the end of the Sanuarach Mine quest (FreeformKarthwastenA) does not exit with a goodbye flag when it should. (Bug #22145)
  • Serana should no longer repeatedly say "Yes, what did you need?" during Chasing Echoes (DLC1VQ04). (Bug #22104)
  • If the player ignores Riverwood entirely, or leaves Riverwood after being invited to talk to Alvor or Gerdur but before actually talking to them, they will become stuck in the scenes meant to play out for this and be unable to advance the Main Quest if the player returns. This is due to a bad stage check on an alias script that MQ102A and MQ102B both use to track where the status of friendship is with Alvor or Gerdur. This status will not trigger Bethesda's failsafe properly unless the player visits Dragonsreach AND tells Irileth about the attack on Helgen. This is an event easily avoided, and with the things that need processing, it's possible this is the root cause of a number of early issues in the Civil War with things not behaving properly. (Bug #21507)
  • During Hitting the Books (MG03) the College students are supposed to gather next to the Eye of Magnus and play out a scene. Due to issues with the scene trigger, this would never happen because the trigger would be encountered prior to this portion of the quest being reached since the trigger box had no conditions and would become disabled upon first entering the Hall of Elements. (Bug #20741)
  • Ringmaker (FreeformRiften18) should no longer continue to prompt the objective to bring Madesi his items if the objective to do so is in the quest journal. (Bug #22234)
  • Two of Anoriath's dialogue topics shouldn't have been able to play when he is not at his stand offering services. (Bug #22140)

I've noticed that USLEEP 3.0.0 beta doesn't longer include the voices of specialmaleuniquefelldir and specialmaleuniquetsun when compared to latest uskp. Was this intended?

While doing my spanish translation, I found a possible text error, although this one is not specific of USLEEP and affects UDBP too.

 

DLC2EnchArmorStalhrimHeavyHelmetMagicka05 and DLC2EnchArmorStalhrimHeavyHelmetMagicka06 have same text, "Stalhrim Heavy Helmet of Extreme Magicka", but if they follow same logic as all the other stalhrim heavy items, the 06 one should be "Stalhrim Heavy Helmet of Peerless Magicka"

Yeah, that's definitely not intentional. We fixed a number of other instances where Bethesda made the same types of errors with armor in the base game, so that's something that should be added to the bug tracker for when we get around around to doing new fixes again.

I'm currently testing the USLEEP beta. As explained in the readme I uninstalled the individual patches then installed USLEEP, then loaded my savegame. Everything seems fine. Of course my Papyrus log is full of "this variable will be skipped" messages, as expected. I noticed only one unusual message, I don't know if it has to be reported :

Oh, and I have a question about the 188 non-retroactive fixes currently in the individual patches. Yes I counted them. :P

 

I'm sorry if it has been answered before, I didn't find any information about them : when we upgrade from the individual patches to USLEEP in an existing savegame, do we lose these fixes ?

Elgar, about your log report on the uhfp retro script - I had the exact same thing when first loading an existing character, along with some udbp retro script stuff. It's meaningless, just a small hiccup that happens. It will go away on your next load.

 

As for the non-retroactive fixes, they will all be carried over.

 

Good work guys. I've been testing this for the past 2 months and I'm sure there may be things I did not come across. So please continue to report anything odd you find. :)

a trick i just learned:

use wrye bash and click on the masters tab on the right. accept the warning about editing masters. then right click on USKP, chose "replace with". pick USLEEP. after that, load in TES5edit and sort masters. should work without errors.

probably old news for any heavy wrye users, but news to me as a NMM user mostly.

You shouldn't have to sort masters after changing in Wrye Bash.

 

But you bring up a good point. For those with mods that are currently dependent on USKP or any of the Unofficial Patches and you feel comfortable changing the masters to USLEEP, here are more detailed instructions to do so.

 


If you have Wrye Bash installed:

 

Select the file in the mods tab.

In the box to the right that lists masters, select the USKP esp file.

Use the "Change to" option.

Select the USLEEP esp file.

Make sure to hit save so the change takes effect.

If Wrye Bash won't cooperate, use the TES5Edit instructions instead.

 

If you don't have Wrye Bash, you can use TES5Edit instead:

 

Open TES5Edit, select the file you want to change.

Expand the file tree, go to the "Header" section.

Find the "Master File" entry for Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp.

Right click, edit it, change that to: Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp

Close TES5Edit and save when prompted to.

 

If this worked, the game should load those files like normal.

 

If you have a file that depends on more than one unofficial patch, these methods CANNOT be used and the file will need to be handled differently by whoever wrote it.

 

Also note per the second post, Arthmoor has already updated his Cutting Room Floor and Bring Out Your Dead mods to accomodate this change.

well, if the mod is also dependent on the dlcs or their patches, it did require sorting for me (at least to have them sorted in the header. wrye complains about unsorted master, but i think the game does not).

another thing i found: you can change all UXXP to USLEEP. this will give you a mod with USLEP as master several times. use the TES5Edit function to clean masters to sort this out. the "check for error" option on tes5edit reported no errors when i did this to "even better quest objectives". potential soultion or something i should avoid doing in the future?

You also need to be cautious with the master editing. Check for errors with TES5Edit once you've done that. You may have some manual form ID fixing to do. Especially if you're doing something that has more than one of the patches as a master.

My first log with the beta installed ( very first one )

 

To me this all looks like its probably to be expected, but reproducing it in full in case theres something of interest ..

This was a quick test with an ongoing game, replacing the old patches with USLEEP

Edited one file to change its master with TES5Edit ( Guard Torch Remover )

And removed Skyrim Project Optimisation for now

i always did check for errors afterwards. nothing turned up. it seems to have worked. luckily it's only 3 mods, so if something turns up, i know where to look

About Alternity's log : Glad to see it's going that good, really impressive. The only line I'd worry about is this one, from the second log :

Seems like the former retroactive script from the UDGP will have to be cleaned manually from the savegame. (No time to check for myself right now).

Game Mechanics Fixes

  • A damaged Story Manager node with an unresolved reference for Hearthfire was repaired by copying the Skyrim.esm record.

Any insight on what kind of issues this could have caused before USLEEP was on ?
